Mandalorian Tales Reboot

It happened so quickly. He encountered these gems during one of his explorations to old abandoned temples and they've served as invaluable help in combating the Galactic Empire. They had a great connection to the living force, and it was so pure and raw, it seemed chaotic. He never expected to see them overwhelm the ship with their strength, and even less that their reaction would change his life forever.

Jerard was forced to eject the chaos gems into space, forcing him along with them. He had no time to say farewell to his friends and comrades aboard the ship. The last glimpse he had was his personal fighter coming towards him. He knew he could count on Zapper to get him out of a tough spot. A light from nearby would obscure everything, leaving him unconscious afterwards.

The darkness was invasive and cold. There were flashes of his past as he felt the cold void around him. Memories of friends and family gone. Dux, Nareen, Somrad, Skalaya, and so many more. He had the sinking feeling he would never see them again. This was all so....sudden....was he ready to die?......Yes....he fought long enough. He would see his friends soon. His family. His love. He could almost reach out and....*Thunk*

....The canopy?

Jerard slowly opened his eyes, to the sight of the inside of his helmet staring at the closed canopy of his star fighter above him. Beyond that was a snowstorm. He must've landed on Hoth or Ilum or the northernmost reaches of a more temperate planet. He sat up in his seat, feeling incredible stiff after what must've been a long, long sleep. He removed his helmet to get a good breath of air within his cockpit. Even with his thermals managing his body temperature, the freezing cold from outside was seeping into his cockpit.

The cold air stung at Jerard's face. Looks like he wasn't dying any time soon. He looked towards his astromech. It looked like the frost had Zapper's servos mostly locked. It took the poor little guy some effort to turn towards his recently awakened friend. He smiled at the droid to let him know that he was ok. Zapper chirped a hearty good morning to Jerard, followed by calling him an idiot. The man shook his head chuckling. He opened the canopy, which took a bit more effort do to icing. The storm nearly tore off the canopy as it was opened.

"Just another day in the Galactic Alliance, right?" He joked to Zapper. He put on his helmet to scan the surroundings, looking for familiar landmarks to orient himself. The storm was making it difficult to tell what was going on. However, that wasn't the most worrying factor. He couldn't connect to the holonet. There wasn't static to show that there was even a chance. There was no connection to be made. "Are we in the Unknown regions, Zapper?"

Zapper responded, and a chill went down Jerard's spine colder than the north pole of Hoth. Beyond the Galaxy? They.....weren't in the galaxy anymore? No....no that's not possible. There's no way to escape the tail of their galaxy. Not even the exploration ships that attempted it ever made it out.....and yet....it was possible. The Yuuzhan Vong came from another galaxy to theirs....the same could be said of leaving it....but....how? And if so, where was he now? What world was he on? Was he truly in another galaxy? He slumped into his cockpit chair, feeling an even greater feeling of defeat than anyone could ever feel in their lifetime.......
